Love is a Kaleidoscope

December 30, 2024

When I think about love, I think not of the saturday weddings kind of love, My mind paints a bright picture of love in different hues

Love exists in many forms,

Love is a stranger showing you kindness on one of your worst days,

Love is your neighbor knocking on your door with a plate of food knowing that it’s month end and your salary is already non-existent,

Love is the okada man that carried you all the way to the Nysc secretariat, without taking a dime from you because you are corper wee!

Love is the person that calmed your panic attacks and offered you water when you just got to a new city,

Love is the lady from a group chat who called you one morning just to check how you were doing because you have not been active,

Love is the baba in your neighborhood that drove your mother when she was in labor to the hospital in the early hours of the morning,

Love is that aunty down your street that drove you and your parents to the hospital when you were convulsing in the middle of the night even with her broken headlights,

Love is you crumpling a piece of your biscuits for ants to feed on,

Love is your friend keep up with school work for you because you had surgery and couldn’t be in school for a while,

Love is you showing kindness to every creation no matter their size,

Love is the warm, warm envelope of your family,

Love is you taking your friend’s kids to your house just so she can catch a break,

Love is in you, Love is in me, Love is in everyone of us.
