The Mind Of A Jealous Lover

Palms sweating, eyes twitching 
Heart racing, mind reeling 
Ears ringing, mouth agape 

On bended knees
Body swaying, soul jumping
Hands folded, lips pleading
Words formed, nothing uttered 

Death knocked, Chike answered
Anger surged, restrain snapped
Cry let out, tears ran down

I gazed into the eyes of Chike as snot ran down his nose to exchange notes with the blood on his upper lips
Chike cheated life and succumbed to death when I wasn’t looking 

I had left to prepare Segun for his session
And came back to meet Chike lifeless
And now my playtime is lessened 

Lessons learnt, losses counted 
Segun won’t be so lucky

Segun looked at me with pleading in his beautiful eyes
I had written eulogies just looking at that eyes
I had chosen to drown my love in the depth of his iris
Enfolded him in the yearning of my heart 

Tears slide down his face as I told him how Chike had cried for mercy
How I had looked at the face so similar to mine and felt nothing 
Segun lips trembled in terror and I wondered if he was afraid of what was to come for him
Or if he was imagining what I had done to his lover

My lover had a lover and it wasn’t me
My brother had a lover in my lover.
