Note: a collective voice carries the weight of generational trauma.

I come from a group of people
Who carry trauma on their back

the days of future past
have shown our struggles
Only continue to grow

yet we press on
dance in the darkness
hold our loved ones close

and tell generation
After generation
It’s going to be ok
with each iteration
Of racism
We created culture for ourselves
While they play co-opt on repeat
screaming we don’t accept you
And we probably never will
creation and death is your life sentence
The cup is never yours to fill
